Summary

Dark souls is an incredibly difficult game, potentially the hardest game ever, and you can unlock the hardest mode possible by drinking while playing

Setup

Choose your alcohol of choice, decide what constitutes one "drink" and make a new character. For maximum "fun", roll Deprived. Gift doesn't matter too much. For our character (whom we've named "Magical Dongs"), we went with the Master Key. During play a given player has control of the character until they finish resting at a bonfire; until they exit the bonfire menu it is up to them to decide what to level, attune, etc. Allowances are often made to consume souls if there are almost enough souls to level, reinforce, etc.

Rules

The rules are:

• One drink if you die (unless the game glitched).
• Two drinks if you died by falling off of a ledge.
• Social (everyone drinks) if you die and did not recover souls and humanity lost by a previous player.
• If you rest at a bonfire and pass your turn, drink once for EVERY remaining draught of Estus remaining.
• During your turn drink once for every draught of Estus consumed while outside of combat. (Note: we mostly use this rule so that players remember to use the Heal miracle, but it works nicely with the previous rule.)
• Drink once if an enemy successfully drinks Estus.
• On a successful parry-riposte or backstab everybody but the current player takes one drink.
• If you successfully kill a mini-boss (i.e., non-respawnable) toast somebody; each of you must drink once.
• If you beat a boss, social: everyone toasts your victory!
• If you enter a new area, social.
• Two drinks for attuning a new spell.
• One drink every time you level up. (Social if the new SL is a multiple of five.)
• Optional Rule: one drink for equipping a new item, two if it is going into an empty slot.
