Thumper Drinking Game

Summary

Thumper is a fast paced drinking game that can be played anywhere, at any time, as long as there's enough people to get a game going. All it requires is that each player picks a hand motion to be theirs for the duration of the game (and alcohol, of course). They do a great job showing how the game is played in this clip from the movie Beerfest.

Setup

Setting up a game of Thumper is as easy as it gets. Gather at least 4 people (having more people makes it more fun), and sit around a table. Before the game can begin, everyone must choose a hand motion to represent them throughout the game. We suggest choosing a funny, sexual hand motion, but there's no requirement and it can be something as simple as a wave (keep it short).

Rules

After everyone's picked their hand signal, the Thumper drinking game can begin. Everyone drums rapidly on the table, and the game is initiated by the leader asking the following:

• Leader: "WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE GAME?"
• Everyone: "THUMPER!"
• Leader: "AND WHY DO WE PLAY THE GAME?"
• Everyone:: "TO GET FUCKED UP!"

For those of you who have never played or witnessed a game of Thumper before, this initial exchange illustrates of serious the game should be taken . The leader now starts the game (while the drumming continues) by performing his hand gesture followed by another players'. The player who's gesture was performed must now stop drumming (the leader now drums as he's an active participant) and perform his own gesture, followed by a new player's gesture. This continues until someone either messes up, miscues, or takes too long to respond, and drinks as a result of their infraction.

This drinking game can be enhanced by slow motion and high speed switches, which are exactly what they sound like (when you get good at slow motion, it can be hilarious). This can be a great drinking game to play before a night out as it gets everyone involved, and due to its hyperactive nature it's great for waking people up.
